Fresh Snack Program
WHAT IS FRESH SNACK?
Our Fresh Snack Program offers all Glen Park students an organic, seasonal, and (most times) local, fruit or vegetable every day for mid-morning snack.
Selected from the best of the week’s offerings each Friday and delivered the following Monday, our kids are getting some of the freshest organic produce available to the Bay Area! Fresh Snack is funded by our PTO and run by parent volunteers every day. We are always looking for extra hands to help us out! See below or click here.
OUR KIDS LEARN:
Snacking on fresh fruits and veggies is a healthy and delicious way to satisfy hunger!
- About eating with the seasons, trying new things, and what the best seasonal produce tastes like - ripe, fresh and untainted by pesticides.
Kids get a daily nutrition boost of vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
- Teachers report better behavior and better attention spans, which leads to better performance in class.
Parents report that their kids are eating more veggies and fruits at home, and asking for something specific they had for Fresh Snack from the grocery store!

Green beans, Sugar snap peas, Daikon radish, Tangerines, Kumquats, Pomelo, Strawberries, Carrots, Bell peppers, Grapefruit, Purple beans, Watermelon, Pears, Cucumbers, Pomegranate, Celery, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Asparagus, Cantaloupe, and Peaches
